Building effective and mutually beneficial partnerships, both locally and internationally, is a priority of South Africa's national strategy for science, technology and innovation. The Director-General of the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), Dr Phil Mjwara, was speaking at the EuroScience Open Forum 2020 and said South Africa had embraced the principle that science knows no borders.
